  1. Sunken Meadow State Park is hosting the Owl Pellet Dissection program Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Kids aged eight and up are invited to explore the diet of owls. Dissection tools will be used in this indoor class. If you are interested, you can check the space availability at

  4. Police arrested a man for threatening mass harm in the Cherokee Elementary School parking lot on Friday. The suspect arrived at school around 3 p.m. and yelled threats of violence in the building's direction. He was later identified and arrested at his residence. (Smithtown Matters)

The Annual INTERFACE Coat Drive will be held through Feb. 10 to help those needing warm clothing items this winter.
