Two Teens Spread Their Wings as Eagle Scouts

Christopher Giaramita and Joseph Paladino

Two Boy Scouts have earned their Eagle Scout status with projects to aide and give back to the Smithtown community.

Christopher Giaramita, of Troop 3, received the rank of Eagle Scout on Aug. 18, the highest rank a Boy Scout can achieve. Giaramita led an Eagle Scout project that involved planning and supervising the construction of an 80-foot long, double-sided stockade fence  and a 4-foot by 10-foot concrete pad at the American Legion Post 833 in Smithtown.

Joseph Paladino, of Troop 111 in Nesconset, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in a honor ceremony on Aug. 22. For his Eagle Scout project, Paladino planned and built a security fence at Smithtown High School.
