Week in Review: Attilio's Moves to St. James, Porcini to Smithtown

The doors at the former home to  on Terry Road in Smithtown were not closed for long as it is now under new ownership with a new name – Porcini.
 will soon be replaced by Croxley's Ale House & Eatery, an employee at the ale house confirmed Wednesday. The Croxley's employee could not provide details of how or when the establishment would take over the Smithtown location. Croxley's ownership was not available for comment by time of publication.
While the original plans for to move from Smithtown to St. James were set for ,  put those plans on hold. Now the new location is ready and wil open Wednesday, confirmed owner Sam Mancini.

Both of the high schools in the Smithtown Central School District have been ranked in "Newsweek's America's Best High Schools in 2012," which ranked the top 1,000 high schools in the nation.  was ranked No. 329 in the country, while  came in at No. 704.
While Smithtown High School West and High School East were named in the top 100 high schools in the state according to the , they were separated by more than 20 spots. While the schools were separate, Superintendent Edward Ehmann said the level of education is the same at each. West is ranked #54 in the state out of 1,165 high schools, while East is ranked #76. The difference in scores comes in the college readiness index – West has an index of 49.6, while east holds an index of 42.6.
