- A public meeting is set to discuss the rail spur on an industrial park in Kings Park. A group of residents wants to stop the rail spur from being allowed throughout the neighborhood. If you are interested in participating, join the group at Fort Salonga Elementary School today at noon. (Smithtown Patch)
- Smithtown Middle School students participated in a LEGO competition in Mineola! The Robotics team worked with LEGO SPIKE materials to program their robots. Visit the link to see a group picture of the district's "little engineers." (Smithtown Matters)

- Rage Room Long Island opens on March 3 in Selden. It will be an exciting game for those who need to relieve stress and life's frustrations. Participants will be able to pick a hammer, crowbar, and other tools to smash TVs, microwaves and other electronics. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- A family from Yaphank is suing social media platform Meta for allegedly being responsible for their daughter's depression and suicidal thoughts. The parents said Instagram made their daughter develop anxieties, self-harm and social issues. Read the story here. (Greater Long Island)
- The Maple Sugaring Classes start in February at Hoyt Farm. The town of Smithtown hosts the events. The first session is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. It should be mentioned that tickets are $5 per person, cash only. Registration is recommended. (Town of Smithtown)
