Who Is This "Guy”–“Guy?”
A profile on a "Guy" you may have seen around town performing, running, volunteering / raising funds to support multiple sclerosis research.
Well, for starters, as a local Saint James, NY resident and prominent musician, in addition to performing at top NYC, Long Island and statewide venues for the past 20+ years, you can currently catch this “Guy” singing/playing classic rock ballads “live on a baby grand piano” inside The Stone Goat Restaurant & Brewery every Saturday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm since their grand opening over a year ago.
In addition to copywriting over forty of his original song compositions and being a founding member of New York’s first Journey Tribute band ATLANTIS, “Guy” continues to donate his talents and time in support of “good–cause” initiatives for such non-profit organizations as Ronald McDonald House Charities, TESLA Science Center and Celebrate Saint James as well as performing at statewide venues such as The Stone Goat Restaurant & Brewery (St. James), The Harbor Midst Restaurant (Cold Spring Harbor), The Hidden Harbor Restaurant (Bayville), The Mill River Country Club (Oyster Bay), The Fox Hollow (Woodbury), The Hyatt Hotel (Rochester), The Rochester Convention Center, My Father’s Place (Roslyn) as well as our hometown’s very own beautiful Flowerfield, right here in Saint James on Mill Pond Rd.
“Guy” also released an album with one of his former bands Chalice that produced a Public Service Announcement music video of him and his rocker bandmates touring on the road to educate young adults about drinking responsibly, and the pitfalls of drug and substance/driving abuse.

As a recognized leader in the field of education, published researcher and author, “Guy,” also professionally known as Dr. Guy Lodico, Ph.D., is a pioneer in the creation of model child-centric learning environments – from his early 1990’s innovative design of “The Classroom of The 21st Century” integrating music, technology and literacy development – to his most recent state-of-the-art infrastructure and curricular driven one-to-one learning implementations while serving educational institutions in his statewide roles as president, regional director, chairman, public school director, and teacher. His prior production credits as an educator and musician also include the development of three nationally distributed multimedia health awareness kit campaigns in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, Heart & Lung Association’s media acclaimed “Smoke-Free Class of 2000” and Perdue’s First Facts About Food. Each learning kit became part of the curriculum in over 72,000 schools, nationally.

As an athlete, “Guy” has been competing in local races from 5Ks to half-marathons for the past three years as he continues to train with his “Hamlet Running Club” and “Team TISCH” members in preparation for this year’s 2025 TCS NYC Marathon, this November 2nd; as he raises funds to support the TISCH Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York, a Manhattan-based independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. “I have personally observed the efficacy of the center’s groundbreaking research and treatment facilities in addition to attending their annual conferences led by internationally renowned and board-certified neurologist, Dr. Saud Sadiq,” Guy added.
As part of his other volunteer work, “Guy” helps support Smithtown’s very own internationally certified Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDog Foundation that provide assistance dogs and training – free of charge – to our disabled population and wounded veterans. He donates his time transporting their pups to veterinarian and grooming appointments, working inside the kennel for dog exercise runs, and camps them with his wife Lois at their home in Saint James, NY whenever a raiser/trainer requires care assistance.
So, if you happen to see Guy and his team running down Moriches Rd, Lake Ave, or hitting the challenging hills throughout the villages of Head of The Harbor and Nissequogue, or kayaking along the river – please give him a big wave in support of the TISCH MS Research Center of New York’s tireless dedication and work towards finding the cause and cure for multiple sclerosis.
