SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton business owner is looking to help the local Little League team spruce up their signage.

Ron Fisher, owner of Fisher Signs & Shirts in Southampton, has kicked off a GoFundMe page, "Help Southampton Little League Redo Their Signs."

"I am hoping to rally the Southampton community to help the Southampton Little League raise some money to redo all of the legacy signage at their Southampton Village Field," Fisher wrote. "Southampton Little League is an institution in our community with many recognizable names gracing these Championship Signs from the past 30 years."

Southampton Little League, he added, aspires to be an outstanding educational-athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience, in which every athlete has fun playing the game, feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance, learns "life lessons" that have value beyond the playing field, and learns the skills, tactics and strategies of the game and improves as a player.

The goal of the organization is to create a culture in which coaches, parents, fans, umpires and athletes work together to achieve their mission, he said.

"As you can see, the signs are in great disrepair and any help you can give to restoring these proud displays of the kids' hard work and dedication to the sport would inspire the next generation to play their hearts out," Fisher said.

The goal represents the discounted total to redesign all of the signs, create new ones on an appropriate material that will last many more years, remove all of the old signs and install the new ones, Fisher added.
