DWI Arrest After Southampton Crash Sunday: Police
He swerved off the highway and lost control of the vehicle, hitting a tree, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Mastic man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash in Southampton Sunday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, at about 2:19 a.m., a report came in about a single-car crash in the vicinity of Noyac Road and Mullen Hill Drive. Patrol units responded and determined that the driver of the vehicle, who was intoxicated, swerved off the roadway in an attempt to avoid an object, lost control of the vehicle, and struck a tree, police said.
No injuries were reported, police said.

Armando S. Castro-Chiliquinga, 38, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI; he was also issued summonses for several traffic infractions, police said. Castro-Chiliquinga was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
