Firefighters Respond To Water Mill Car Blaze Friday: Officials
The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, officials say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A car burst into flames in Water Mill Friday morning, officials said.
According to Chris Brenner, public information officer for the Southampton Fire Department, a call came in at 8:53 a.m. involving a working car fire on Head of Pond Road, just off Montauk Highway.

Firefighters arrived to find the car fully engulfed, he said. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze and no one was injured, Brenner said.

Two engines, fire police and Southampton Fire Department Chief Polis Walker and Assistant Chief Richard Fowler were at the scene, he said.

The Southampton Town Fire Marshal was called to investigate, he added.

Traffic was slow in the area due to the fire, Brenner said.
