Hospital Gets New Chilling Unit; Saves Money
The new efficient unit will result in $14,000 in annual savings for the hospital.
Southampton Hospital will be saving over $14,000 through a new cooling system that is being installed with the help of the Long Island Power Authority.
According to the hospital, the hospital's old, and inefficient chilling unit with a new high-efficiency unit through one of LIPA's efficiency programs, called the Commercial Construction Program.
“It is imperative for our community hospital to continue to protect our environment by being 'green-conscious' in every way that we can," said Robert Chaloner, Southampton Hospital’s President & CEO.
Chaloner said the new unit will result in a savings of approximately 75,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) and will be paid for with the help of a LIPA rebate equaling $16,000.
