Man Driving On Sidewalk Charged With Felony DWI: Police

RIVERSIDE, NY — A Mastic man was arrested after he drove his vehicle on the sidewalk while intoxicated in Riverside, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place on Friday night at about 8:42 p.m. Police said they responded to a 911 call regarding a "reckless, erratic" operator of a vehicle on Lake Avenue.

When police arrived, Jorge A. Cabrera, 41, was seen driving his vehicle partially on the sidewalk in the parking lot of the Budget Host Inn, police said.

Cabrera was stopped and found to be intoxicated; he was arrested and charged with felony DWI and several violations of state vehicle and traffic law, police said.

He was transported to Southampton Town Police Department headquarters for arrest processing and held to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court at morning arraignment, police said.
