Here are the top stories in Southampton today:

1. Michael Pearl, 28, a Middle Island man was found inside a Speonk-Riverhead business and was arrested, and charged with third-degree burglary, a felony; third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; and second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, police said. The owner called the police when he saw two men on his security cameras in the midst of a burglary. (Southampton Patch)
2. Timothy McDonagh, 54, of North Sea was tased and arrested Thursday after assaulting a police officer following a dispute on a Hampton Jitney bus, police said. The altercation was sparked by the man's refusal to wear a mask. McDonagh assaulted the patrol officer and resisted arrest, police said. Police confirmed that a taser was deployed during the incident.(Southampton Patch)
3. Volunteers needed for temporary homes for future guide and service dogs. The Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs, is in urgent need for volunteer temporary homes across Long Island and the New York Tri-state area. Temporary homes provide a puppy/mature dog a safe and friendly home with a loving environment where a puppy will learn, or an adult dog will maintain, housebreaking, obedience, excellent house manners, and socialization.
