Here are the top stories in Southampton today:

  1. Wow House: $4.99M on a peninsula overlooking Shinnecock Bay. This house is renovated and upgraded with upgraded appliances. Located at 134 Middle Pond Road, Southampton, N.Y., it is 3966 square feet with four bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. This jewel is located just 2.5 miles from the center of Southampton Village. The view is from the Shinnecock Bay all the way to the ocean offering gorgeous waterfront views from every room. A must see! (Southampton Patch)
  2. Southampton Youth Association Inc. "SYA" said, "Omicron is spreading fast and we encourage you all to mask up and stay healthy. Our January clinics are being postponed but we are watching the numbers and hope to resume in the beginning of February." (Facebook)
  3. Coming to East Hampton: "Inspiration on Ice," a free show by Ice Theatre of New York; the show will take place Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Buckskill Winter Club, located at 178 Buckskill Road in East Hampton. City Skate Pop-Up Concerts are supported, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Gov. Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, among other organizations. (East Hampton Patch)
  4. On Friday, Gov. Kathy Hochul said she is "cautiously optimistic" that hospitalizations are beginning to plateau after the holiday COVID-19 surge. However, she announced that she is seeking to require all hospital health care workers to receive a booster shot. New York was the first state to mandate vaccinations for health care workers, and now, Hochul said that effort will continue with her efforts to require that health care workers be boosted within two weeks of eligibility, with no test-out option and only medical exemptions.
