Tarrytown, Greenburgh Declare Snow Emergencies

GREENBURGH, NY — Municipalities around the Hudson Valley are beginning to prepare for the approaching snowstorm.

The Town of Greenburgh Police Department said a snow emergency was declared through Tuesday and is advising residents to avoid travel overnight Monday through Tuesday.

There will be no parking permitted on any roadway in the town, Parking is prohibited at metered parking spaces on Columbia and Hartsdale avenues from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Hardship parking is suspended, police said. Vehicles in violation are subject to being towed.

The village of Tarrytown declared a snow emergency that will be in effect at 11 p.m. Monday.

Streets that are snow emergency streets/zones are subject to parking restrictions. No one can park any vehicle in those locations during a village-declared snow emergency. Those locations can be found through this link.

Village Hall, the Tarrytown Court, the Recreation Center, the Senior Center, the Fitness Center, the library and other officers will be closed to the public Tuesday, the village said.

Sanitation and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day this week. No commercial or downtown garbage pick-up will take place Tuesday.

Commuter lots A, C, F and G will be closed to parking as of 11 p.m. Monday. Any resident with a parking permit who needs to park overnight in a lot may use Lot D.
