2 Men Stabbed On Upper East Side Street, Police Say

A stabbing outside an Upper East Side deli left two men hospitalized, including one in critical condition, according to police.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Two men were stabbed during a brawl with another two men in front of an Upper East Side deli Wednesday night, according to police and news reports.

A victim told police he was drinking with friends around 11 p.m. on First Avenue between East 75th and 76th streets, when he got into an argument with two other men, an NYPD spokesperson said.

When a fight broke out, one of the victims tried to calm the two other men, only to realize he had been stabbed in the leg, police said. His friend was also stabbed in the groin, according to police.

The friend was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition, while the first man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police had little information about the assailants: the man stabbed in the leg said he did not remember anything about them, while the second victim was unconscious and unable to be interviewed, the NYPD said.
