UES Car Fire Shuts Down Part Of Queensboro Bridge: Officials
The Manhattan-bound lanes on the upper level were closed due to the Friday morning car fire above East 60th Street, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A car caught fire above the Upper East Side on a Queensboro Bridge exit ramp, partially shutting the bridge down as firefighters responded to the scene Friday morning.
The car, which appears to be a pickup truck, sat burning above East 60th Street on the upper level Manhattan-bound exit ramp, which typically dumps cars from Queens on to East 63rd Street.
According to an FDNY spokesperson, the car caught fire at around 8:30 a.m.

Officials quickly shut down the Manhattan-bound upper lanes of the bridge as first responders rushed to prevent further disaster.
Dramatic video from social media shows smoke and flames pouring from the vehicle and into the Upper East Side as firefighters rush to the scene.
