Early AM Fire Breaks Out In Carnegie Hill Apartment Building: FDNY

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Flames broke out in the very early hours of Tuesday inside a Carnegie Hill apartment building, according to the FDNY.

Firefighters first got the call at about 12:50 a.m. reporting flames inside the seventh floor of a 14-story building at 153 East 87th St., between Lexington and Third avenues, officials said.

A crew of nearly 80 FDNY firefighters and medics responded to the blaze, according to an FDNY spokesperson, who got the blaze under control at around 1:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire marshal.
