Hunter College Launches Online Lecture Series Open To Public
You don't have to be a Hunter student to sit in on the lectures, which will be held on Zoom.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Hunter College is offering pent-up New Yorkers a chance to take advantage of the school's knowledgeable faculty while stuck at home through a series of online lectures free to the public, according to a school statement.
The lecture series, called "Hunter at Home," includes discussions, readings and lectures on a wide range of topics such as the musical influence of The Beatles, staying safe during the coronavirus outbreak and the intelligence of dolphins. Events will be hosted through the videoconferencing service Zoom, which the college has been using since shutting down its Upper East Side campus in accordance with state social distancing mandates.
People interested in attending the online lectures and discussions should RSVP ahead of time on Hunter's website to receive link to the videoconference. New Yorkers who can't make the events can also find an archive of recordings on Hunter's website.

Hunter College joined all CUNY schools in closing its physical campus in March as a measure to curb the spread of the coronavirus in New York City. The school has remained close as its students participate in remote learning to round out the school year. School administrators have not yet announced if the campus will reopen for the fall semester. New York's PAUSE order — which shut down schools and other nonessential businesses — is extended through at least May 15.
