Mugger Subdued By Would-Be UES Victim, Then Arrested: Police
A 41-year-old man on Park Avenue was able to subdue a mugger in an early morning attack on Wednesday, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side man turned the tables on an aspiring mugger early Wednesday morning, fighting back and pinning him until officers could arrive and cuff the attacker, police said.
Bronx resident Javier Rivera, 27, was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and assault in connection to the incident, police said.
It all started when a 41-year-old man was walking on Park Avenue near East 65th Street at around 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday when a man approached him and attempted to rob him, officials said.

The aspiring mugger kicked the 41-year-old multiple times, but the victim quickly countered the attack and was able to successfully subdue the perpetrator, police said.
Once the man was successfully pinned, the victim dialed 9-1-1 and waited for police to arrest his attacker, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

While the man suffered pain as a result from the kicks, he refused medical attention at the scene.
