Times Square Gets a Scoop of Serendipity 3 In August: Report
The iconic Upper East Side ice cream parlor will open a new location in Times Square later this month.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY – Iconic ice cream parlor Serendipity 3 will open a new location in Times Square on August 20th, according to a report in Crain’s.
The new location will open in the ground floor of the OYO Hotel at 157 West 47th Street, in a large space featuring “glass mosaics to emulate the Upper East Side's vintage Tiffany lamps.”
The original location, which three friends opened 70 years ago in 1954, is an Upper East Side institution, and has been featured in many films and television shows, including the 2001 movie Serendipity – starring Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack – which was named after the restaurant.
