11-Year-Old Girl In Inwood Has Phone Snatched From Hands: NYPD

A girl was standing in front of 157 Vermilyea Ave. when a person grabbed her phone and took off running, police said.

INWOOD, NY — An 11-year-old girl standing on an Inwood street had her cellphone snatched from her hands, police said.

The girl was standing in front of 157 Vermilyea Ave., near West 207th Street, about 3:35 p.m. on Nov. 5, when a person grabbed her phone out of her hand and took off down the uptown block, police said.

The robber fled south on Vermilyea Avenue, police said.

The NYPD spokesperson did not specify what kind of phone it was, or if the girl was injured in the process.
