16-YO Faces Murder Charge For Inwood Nightclub Shooting: Cops
NYPD announced Thursday the arrest of a teenager in connection to a shooting outside the Opus Lounge in September 2021.
INWOOD, NY — A 16-year-old has been charged with murder in connection to a shooting that happened last year outside of a nightclub in Inwood, police said on Thursday.
The unnamed teenager was charged with murder, two counts of robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, and assault, police said.
The charges stem from a shooting on September 20, 2021, where officers arrived at the front of Opus Lounge at 3775 Tenth Ave. to find two men with gunshot wounds, police said.

A 35-year-old man had been hit in the chest with a bullet, and a 42-year-old man had been shot in the right arm, police said.
Medics rushed both men to the hospital, at which the 42-year-man was pronounced dead, police said.

NYPD later identified the man as Bronx resident Jeffrey Sanchez.
It is the second teenage arrest in the case as Washington Heights resident Damian Suarez, 19, was also previously arrested and charged with murder and robbery in connection to the Inwood shooting.
