2 Gunpoint Robberies Occur Uptown Within Hours, Police Say
Two men stole food, cash and a necklace during two gunpoint robberies Friday, police announced over the weekend.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A gunman robbed a store and a man on a bike snatched a person's necklace in Washington Heights within hours on Friday, police announced over the weekend.
The first robbery began about 5 a.m. when a man whipped out a gun, demanded cash and refused to pay for food he ordered at Lai Lai deli on Broadway and West 193rd Street, police said.
The man walked out of the store with $100 in cash and $460 worth of merchandise, police added.

Hours later and a mile south, a gunman stole a necklace and pendant from a 32-year-old man near West 181st Street and Audubon Avenue about 1 p.m., police said.
NYPD released a photo of the man wanted in connection to the Upper Manhattan jewelry robbery.
