2 Traffic Cops Punched In The Head, Attacked In Wash Heights: NYPD
The attack happened Wednesday about 9:15 p.m. at West 172nd Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, a police spokesperson told Patch.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A pair of NYPD traffic enforcement cops were punched in the head and attacked in Washington Heights on Wednesday night, a police spokesperson told Patch.
The officers were enforcing parking regulations about 9:15 p.m. near West 172nd Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, when a man punched one of the officers in the head, police said.
The other cop attempted to help his partner, but was also thrown to the ground by the attacker, police said.

The man then ran off in an unknown direction, police said.
The two traffic cops were taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, police said.
