INWOOD, NY - A new affordable housing lottery has opened in Washington Heights for residents making below $100,000.

703 West 171st St., a nine-story, 12 unit building near Riverside Park in Washington Heights, opened its lottery to households bringing in an annual $42,720 to $91,500.

The property was sold in January for $6.3 million by Forum Capital Partners to Behrooz Hedvat through the entity Devarium 26 LLC, PincusCo reported.

The building, which was built in 2006, lists one bedrooms for around $3,150 and two bedrooms for around $5,000, according to StreetEasy data. It’s a far cry from the two $1,246 and one $1,490 one bedrooms offered through NYC Housing Connect, for incomes ranging from $42,720 to $76,260 and $51,086 to $91,500, respectively.

Households of between one and five people are encouraged to apply. Tenants will be responsible for electricity, including heat and gas for cooking.

Designed by Sasaki & Spade Architects and located less than four blocks from New York Presbyterian Hospital, the affordable apartments tout floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood flooring and private outdoor space.
