WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man accused of groping a 14-year-old girl inside her Washington Heights apartment building, police said.

The suspect and another woman pretended to be a Con Edison employee Wednesday to get access to a building on West 191 Street, police said. While inside the building, the duo attempted to enter multiple apartments.

While trying to get into one apartment, a 14-year-old girl who lived in the building denied them entrance, police said. Later on, the girl attempted to pass the man on a staircase when the accused groper grabbed her buttocks and fled the building, police said.
