Firefighter Injured In Wash Heights Residential Building Blaze: FDNY

A fire broke out Thursday morning within a building at 607 W. 191st St., an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A blaze broke out early Thursday morning in Washington Heights that left a firefighter injured, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

The blaze ignited around 2:52 a.m. on the second floor of a residential building at 607 W. 191st St., which is between Wadsworth and St. Nicholas avenues, FDNY said.

A total of 60 firefighters responded to the blaze and had it under control by 3:44 a.m., FDNY said.

A firefighter was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, FDNY said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
