Food Bazaar, 600+ Affordable Housing Units Set For Inwood Debut
The new site will be Food Bazaar's 1st location above 125th Street in Manhattan and will be located below a new affordable development.

INWOOD, NY - Food Bazaar has inked a lease with commercial real estate firm JLL to open a new 37,000-square-foot grocery store in Inwood, Patch has learned.
The location at 375 West 207th St. will be Food Bazaar’s first location above 125th Street in Manhattan and will be located at the base of the new 30-story residential project dubbed Sherman Creek North Cove. All 611 units at Sherman Creek North Cove will be designated as affordable, JLL said in a news release.
Exact opening dates for the store and housing development have yet to be determined, but Food Bazaar is expected to move into the space sometime in early 2025, The Business Journals reported.

“We are extremely excited to introduce our Food Bazaar brand to this community, which is where the founders of Food Bazaar lived for many years,” Edward Suh, executive vice president of Bogopa, Food Bazaar's parent company, said in a statement. “We are passionate about supporting our local communities and we look forward to celebrating the neighborhood’s rich culture and heritage with a range of fresh food options catering to local demand.”
Food Bazaar stores tout produce, deli, dairy, seafood, meat and frozen sections, as well as carry floral, household, pets and beer and wine items. and are mostly in Brooklyn and the Bronx, according to the brand’s website. The closest Food Bazaar in Manhattan is located in East Harlem on 125th Street.

“As Sherman Creek evolves from a primarily commercial district to a dynamic community of new residential and mixed-use properties, open park space and waterfront access, Food Bazaar will fill the void for a full-service neighborhood supermarket providing fresh food options,” said Eli Weiss, principal of the property's co-developer Joy Construction. “We are thrilled to welcome them to Sherman Creek North Cove, which will bring much-needed high quality workforce housing, tenant amenities and community recreation space to the area.”
23,340 square feet of retail space remains vacant at 375 West 207th St. Developers are currently seeking service-oriented retailers and restaurants to fill the tenancy.
