Own Every Dollar Gang Busted For Wreaking 'Havoc' In Wash Heights: DA
Ten OED members stand accused of murder, drug dealing and using luxury vehicles as getaway cars, prosecutors said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A drug-selling and gun-flashing gang that "wreaked havoc" in Washington Heights and across Manhattan have been charged with 90 crimes, among them murder, the Manhattan District Attorney's office announced Tuesday.
Ten members of the Own Every Dollar gang — OED for short — stand accused of committing a string of violent robberies and shooting from Spring 2021 to Spring 2022 in Washington Heights, Midtown, the Lower East Side, and The Bronx, prosecutors said.
"As alleged, OED wreaked havoc on our streets,” District Attorney Bragg said in a news release. “This carefully structured criminal enterprise developed elaborate schemes to carry out robberies and violence, including tracking their victims before premeditated attacks."

"Court documents also describe the different roles that members of O.E.D. played in the carefully planned and executed robberies of patrons of nightclubs and restaurants," reads the release from the DA's office.
"Some members rented luxury vehicles to use as getaway cars, while others were tasked with acquiring guns, or scouting victims on social media or in person."
The indictment charges also included allegations of at least 14 different guns that were acquired and used during the period.
Members sold fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, oxycodone, and marijuana in and around Washington Heights from 2019 to 2022, according to a release at the time of the members' arrests in March 2022 from the DEA.
The gang operated mostly between West 180th and 193rd streets between Audubon and St. Nicholas Ave., reads a criminal complaint from the time.
The DEA said the gang "frequently" sold to undercover cops, were arrested in possession of large quantities of drugs, and routinely flashed their money and weapons on social media sites.
The gang members were arrested in March and charged with the intent to distribute 400 grams and more of fentanyl, according to the DEA:
"These individuals lived by a brutal code of street violence – where firearms were recklessly pulled out and indiscriminately fired, where innocent lives were disregarded, where families and neighborhoods were traumatized and torn apart,” stated NYPD Commissioner Keechant L. Sewell, in a news release.
John Aslan, Ryell Rainey, and Damian Suarez face murder charges, while members Hugo Rodriguez and Joan Moya were charged with attempted murder, prosecutors said.
The other members were charged with either attempted robbery or criminal possession of a weapon.
