Gunshot Fired Near Morris-Jumel Mansion Prompts NYPD Probe

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY - A person fired a gunshot near Morris-Jumel Mansion in Washington Heights earlier this month, prompting a police investigation, authorities said.

The gunshot was fired at an unknown victim on Sept. 4 at around 11:50 p.m. in front of 966 Saint Nicholas Avenue, the New York Police Department said.

The shooter was last seen fleeing westbound on Saint Nicholas Avenue on foot, police said. No injuries were reported.

The gunman is described as a male around five feet five inches tall with an athletic build.

He was last seen wearing a white tank top, gray jeans and white sneakers and carrying a black fanny pack.
