Man Attacked And Robbed At Gunpoint Of $5K In Wash Heights: NYPD

Police released photos Wednesday evening of three people wanted in connection to a recent gunpoint robbery near West 187th Street.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A pair of attackers recently pressed a gun into a man's stomach in Washington Heights, before stealing $5,000 in cash from him, the New York Police Department announced on Wednesday.

Around 7:25 p.m. on March 31, two men approached a 59-year-old man near 1525 Saint Nicholas Ave., which is close to West 187th Street, police said. The two robbers began attacking the man and pointed a gun at his stomach, police said.

The duo then snatched $5,000 in cash and an iPhone from the 59-year-old, before fleeing the scene, police said.

A spokesperson from the NYPD added that a third person was also keeping watch during the entire interaction.

The victim was not taken to the hospital.

Police did not provide a description of the attackers besides the released photos on Wednesday.
