Man Dies In Inwood Apartment Fire, Police Say
A man died and a woman was critically injured when the fire broke out in a Seaman Avenue building.

INWOOD, NY — A man was killed by a fire that broke out in an Inwood apartment building this weekend, police and fire officials said.
Firefighters responding to a blaze at 80 Seaman Ave., located between Academy and West 204th streets, found 51-year-old Alberto Urena dead inside his apartment on Saturday morning, an NYPD spokesman said. An 86-year-old woman was also found in the apartment and rushed to The Allen Hospital in critical condition, police said.
City fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire and the city medical examiner will perform an autopsy on Urena to discover his exact cause of death, police said.

The fire broke out in Urena's second-floor apartment around 11:45 a.m., police said. Firefighters had the blaze under control around shortly after 12:30 p.m., fire officials said.
