Man Hit With Bottle On Wash Heights Train, Police Say

A Manhattan straphanger was hospitalized Tuesday night after another rider hit him on the head with a bottle, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A fight on a Washington Heights train turned violent when one straphanger swung a bottle at another's head Tuesday night, police said.

Three men began to argue on a southbound A train near West 168th Street about 9:40 p.m., police said.

One of the men suddenly attacked another with a bottle and cut him on the head, police said.

The injured man rushed off the train at the next stop and was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police are still looking for the attacker and his companion, who continued riding the A train.
