Man Killed In Wash Heights Shooting Sunday Night: NYPD
There were no arrests made in connection with the deadly shooting as of Monday morning, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY - A man was fatally shot following a spat in Washington Heights Sunday night, authorities said.
The gunshot was fired Sunday about 11:42 p.m. near the intersection of West 185th Street and St Nicholas Avenue, police said.
Police found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso at the scene. Medics transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem where he was pronounced dead.

The gunfire began as a result of a brawl between a scooter rider and a driver who got out of their vehicle, ABC7 reported. A passenger of the car pulled out a gun and shot the victim, the outlet said.
There were no arrests made as of Monday morning. The investigation remains ongoing.

As of Monday, New York City has 744 reported shooting incidents so far in 2023, according to city data. That's down about 26.6 percent from the same time the previous year.
In the 34th precinct where the shooting took place, police have seen nine shooting incidents so far in 2023. That’s compared to 17 reported this time last year.
The deadly Washington Heights shooting comes during a weekend that claimed at least three other victims: In Brooklyn, a 28-year-old man was shot in the head outside a NYCHA complex Saturday, per ABC7. An 18-year-old was also killed in Brooklyn after he and a 15-year-old girl were inside a building in Flatbush on Sunday.
A 35-year-old man was also fatally shot in the torso in the Bronx Sunday, police said.
