Cab Driver Robbed At Knifepoint In Washington Heights: Police
The thief threatened to cut the cab driver then stole $150 and ran into the streets of Washington Heights, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A robber pulled a knife on a cab driver in Washington Heights and threatened to cut him if he didn't hand over cash, a spokesperson from the NYPD said on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old was driving his cab near St. Nicholas Avenue and West 180th Street on April 5 about 5:15 p.m. when the passenger pulled out a knife and held it against his body, police said.
The passenger then snatched $150 from inside a cup holder and jumped out of the car, police said.

The taxi driver tried to follow him, but lost him in the streets of Washington Heights, police said.
NYPD released photos of the man wanted in connection to the robbery for the first time Wednesday evening, which were obtained from a surveillance camera at 560 W. 180th St.

Police describe the man as 20 to 35 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and 145 pounds.
