Man Punched, Robbed At Knifepoint In Washington Heights: Police

One of the robbers threatened the victim at knifepoint while shouting, "don't say anything or I'll stick you," according to police.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify two men wanted in connection with a violent robbery in Washington Heights, police said.

A 43-year-old man was walking home near Amsterdam Avenue and West 158th Street on the night of June 19 when he was approached from behind by two unknown men, police said. One of the men punched the victim in the face and the other pulled a knife and shouted "don't say anything or I'll stick you," according to police.

The victim handed the robbers his wallet, which contained $500 in cash and a metro card, and his cellphone, police said.

The suspects fled the scene by heading north on Amsterdam Avenue, police said. While the men ran away, they threw the victim's cellphone on the ground causing it to break, police said.

Police released photos of the two suspects taken on a security camera on Amsterdam Avenue before the robbery.
