Man Punches 89-Year-Old Woman In The Face In Washington Heights: NYPD

Police are looking for a man who punched an elderly woman while she was walking with her family in Upper Manhattan.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man punched an 89-year-old woman in the face while she was walking with her family in Washington Heights, police said.

The elderly woman was in front of 551 W. 161st St. around 4:30 p.m. on Monday when a man walked up to her and struck her in the face, police said.

The punch caused injuries to the right eye and cheek, but the woman refused medical attention, police said.

The man didn't stick around for long, running off eastbound on West 161st Street after throwing the punch, police said.

The man is described as 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and 160 to 170 pounds, police said.
