Man Robbed At Gunpoint In Washington Heights: NYPD
The victim was possibly selling fruit Thursday morning at a stand near West 178th Street when he was robbed, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man who was possibly selling fruit at a stand in Washington Heights was robbed Thursday morning at gunpoint, a police spokesperson told Patch.
The robber approached the 23-year-old man around 4 a.m. at 400 Fort Washington Ave., near West 178th Street, and asked — "How much do the mangos and avocados cost?" police said.
He then took out a small gun and demanded money, police said.

The 23-year-old said he didn't have any cash, but the robber plunged his hand into the man's pocket and took $130, police said.
The robber then fled the scene, police said.

The NYPD spokesperson could not confirm the victim was operating a sidewalk fruit stand, but did say it seemed likely given the details.
There have been no arrests.
