Man Shot In Groin In Random Inwood Attack: NYPD

INWOOD, NY - A stranger shot a man in the groin in Inwood earlier this year in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack, authorities said.

The stranger picked a fight with his 27-year-old victim near 10th Avenue and West 206th Street on May 8 about 5:35 a.m., police said.

Amid the brawl, the stranger whipped out a gun and pulled the trigger, shooting the victim in the groin, police said.

The stranger then ran away south on 10th Avenue, police said.

The 27-year-old was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

The shooter is described as standing six feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds.
