Man Slashed In Wash Heights After Attacker Says 'I Hate Mexicans': PD
A good Samaritan trying to stop a fight in a Washington Heights deli got slashed in the face, police said Sunday.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A good Samaritan trying to stop a fight in a Washington Heights deli was slashed in the face after the attacker yelled out "I hate Mexicans," police said on Sunday.
Two people began to fight within the 600 Candy Grocery store at 600 W. 161st St. on Oct. 23 about 7 p.m., police said.
A 38-year-old man in the store tried to break up the fight, which prompted one of the men to pull out a knife and slash him in the face, police said.

The slasher then ran out of the store in an unknown direction, police said.
The good Samaritan suffered a cut to his face, but he refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the attack.
