Boy Hit By Train At Inwood's Dyckman Street, Police Say
The 12-year-old suffered a serious injury to his leg and was sent to the hospital in stable condition.

INWOOD, NY — A 12-year-old boy was on the subway tracks at the Dyckman Street 1 train station in Inwood when he was hit by a train Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The boy was struck by a southbound 1 train shortly before 4 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said. EMS rushed the boy, who was conscious and alert, to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in serious but stable condition, police said.
Police were unable to confirm how the boy got onto the tracks before he was hit.

The MTA cut power to the station and suspended 1 train service between Van Cortland Park-242nd Street and 145th Street stations while emergency responders worked on the scene.
