Motorcycle-Riding Thief Robs Cop's $10K Necklace In Inwood: NYPD

INWOOD, NY — The NYPD is hunting two motorcycle-riding thieves that stole a $10,000 necklace from an off-duty police officer in Inwood, a department spokesman said.

A 40-year-old police officer was walking home early Sunday morning near Broadway and Cumming Street when two unknown men approached him on a motorcycle, police said. The passenger hopped off the back of the bike, flashed a gun at the cop and then stole his necklace and cellphone, police said.

The police officer was not injured during the robbery and the suspects are still at large, an NYPD spokesman said.
