NYPD Investigating Multiple Robberies In Wash. Heights, Inwood

The NYPD is asking for the public's help identifying a group of people sought in connection with a series of robberies.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY – The NYPD is asking for the public's help identifying a group of people sought in connection with a series of robberies that happened in Washington Heights and Inwood.

On July 6 around 2 a.m., a man and woman were approached by a group of unidentified people in front of 431 West 202 Street. The people had firearms and forcibly removed jewelry before taking off, police said. One firearm was discharged but no injuries were reported.

Additionally, on July 11 just after 2 a.m., a 40-year-old man was approached by a group of people on two-wheeled vehicles in front of 4892 Broadway. The people had firearms and forcibly removed jewelry and approximately $6,000 before leaving. The man refused medical attention.

On July 22 around 3:30 a.m., a 31-year-old man was approached by a group of unidentified people on two-wheeled vehicles at the intersection of West 207 Street and Sherman Ave. The group had firearms and forcibly removed jewelry and approximately $6,800 before leaving.

Lastly, on July 24 around 1:20 a.m., a 33-year-old man was approached by a group of people in front of 1447 Saint Nicholas Avenue. The group had firearms and forcibly removed the victim's watch before leaving. No injuries were reported.
