Person Robbed At Knifepoint On Washington Heights A Train: Police
A straphanger was robbed by a trio of people this week on a southbound A train near the 168th Street station, police said Wednesday.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A person was robbed at knifepoint while riding the A train in Washington Heights this week, police announced on Wednesday.
A 27-year-old was on a southbound A train around 11:20 p.m. on Monday when three people approached the straphanger near the 168th Street station, police said.
One of the robbers flashed a knife and demanded money, police said. The same person then snatched the person's credit cards, while another one of the trio took a photo of an ID card in the straphanger's wallet, police said.

It is unclear why the robbers might have wanted a photo of the person's ID.
The trio then rode the train to West 125th Street, left the station, and attempted to use the 27-year-old's credit cards inside of a deli at 285 Saint Nicholas Ave., police said.

The person who was robbed was not injured.
Police said the suspects are 16 to 20 years old.
NYPD released photos of the trio on Wednesday.
