Saturday Fire In Inwood Under FDNY Probe, Officials Say

INWOOD, NY - A fire that broke out inside a six-story apartment building in Inwood Saturday is under investigation, authorities said.

The blaze on the second floor of 4996 Broadway near West 212th Street was reported about 9:32 p.m., fire officials told Patch.

12 units and 60 fire and medical personnel responded to the building, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported. The fire was deemed under control about 45 minutes later.

It was not immediately if the beauty salon on the first floor, Silvia Beauty Salon, sustained any damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire officials said.
