Stick-Up Gang Strikes In Inwood, The Bronx, Police Say
The robbers have stolen more than $50,000 in jewelry from their victims.

INWOOD, NY — Police are trying to identify a group of robbers who have stolen more than $50,000 in jewels from victims in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx.
The stick-up gang's crime spree began on Aug. 26 and since then the crew has robbed two more people. Two of the robberies occurred in the Bronx and one in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan, police said.

- On Aug. 26 a 30-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were getting into a car near Broadway and Verveelen Place when the stick-up men exited a nearby vehicle with guns drawn, police said. The robbers stole $200 in cash and jewelry from the couple and fled the scene in a burgundy-colored Kia.
- On Aug. 27 the men approached a 27-year-old victim as he was buying food on the corner of 9th Ave and West 207th Street and threatened the man with guns, police said. The victim handed over $2,000 in cash a jewelry worth $25,000.
- On Sept. 2 a 33-year-old man was entering his home near Montgomery Avenue and West 175th Street when the robbers approached him while holding handguns, police said. The man was forced to hand over his necklaces and a bracelet worth $29,000 before the robbers fled the scene in a BMW.
- In total, more than $55,000 in cash and jewelry was stolen. All three robberies occurred around 4 a.m.
Police released a security photo of the suspects in a getaway car used during the Aug. 26 robbery.
