INWOOD, NY - A man was slashed with keys on a northbound train in Inwood early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The 35-year-old victim was slashed on a 1 train at around 12:33 a.m. near 10th Avenue and West 215th Street, a spokesperson for the New York Police Department told Patch.

A witness told police a physical brawl broke out between two men on the train, which resulted in the 24-year-old assailant striking the victim with keys, police said.

The victim suffered from lacerations to his head and right eyebrow, necessitating two staples, police said.

The 24-year-old, identified as Rafael Paulino, was charged with assault in connection with the incident.
