WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY - Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in a Washington Heights apartment building late Thursday night.

The blaze at 300 Fort Washington Ave. near West 172nd Street was reported about 10:15 p.m., fire officials told Patch.

12 units and 60 fire and medical personnel responded to the fifth floor fire inside the seven-story building, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The fire was deemed under control about 30 minutes later.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire officials said.
