Wash Heights Mother Struggles To Get Mold Removed From Home: Report

Nicholle Nichols sent her kids to live with their dad and her mother opted to enter a shelter because of the mold, City Limits reported.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A Washington Heights mother is frustrated in a battle against black mold in her apartment as her landlord and the city have failed to address the problem, City Limits reported on Monday.

Nicholle Nichols lives in a Washington Heights apartment owned by the notorious landlord Moshe Piller, where she has tried and failed for months to get the mold cleaned out of her children's bedroom, City Limits reported.

In the meantime, she has sent her kids to live with their father in Queens and keeps the door closed to the room and a towel under the gap, City Limits reported.

Her mother opted to enter a homeless shelter instead of living in the apartment, City limits added.

“They said they had treated it and they didn’t,” Nichols told City Limits about the mold. “There was a mushroom growing from a wall.”
