Bathing is prohibited at the beaches until further notice, the Suffolk County Health Department says.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Three Long Island beaches are closed to bathing on Friday, due to the finding of bacteria at excess levels, the Suffolk County Department of Health announced.
West Islip Beach in West Islip, Eagle Dock Beach in Cold Spring Harbor and Cold Spring Harbor Beach Club Beach in Cold Spring Harbor are closed to bathing until further notice.
The beaches will reopen when testing reveals that the bacteria have subsided to acceptable levels, the department said.
