West Islip Fire Department Host Blood Drive On Thursday

WEST ISLIP, NY — The New York Center Blood Center issued an "urgent call" for blood donations in October after blood collections were disrupted due to the ongoing weather emergencies across the United States.

To inspire Long Islanders to contribute this holiday season, the West Islip Fire Department is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m., at 309 Union Blvd. in West Islip.

Eligible donors must have an ID with signature or photo, weigh at least 110 pounds, had no tattoos in the past year and be 16-75 years of age (16-year-old donors require parental consent.)
